1. Who we are and what this covers
VShieldSoft Inc. (“VShieldSoft”, “we”, “us”) is a Canadian business based in Kitchener, Ontario. We sell one-payment software and technician-led setup and care plans, primarily to people in the United States. This policy covers visitors to vshieldsoft.com, anyone who buys any product listed on our Shop page (all four families — Device Protection, Privacy & Identity, Performance & Care and Home & Family — and any product we no longer sell), and anyone who contacts us or takes part in a VIP Remote Setup Session.
2. Information we collect
- When you order: name, email address, phone number, billing address (our checkout asks for a US postal code), the products you bought, and the payment result. We do not see or store full card numbers; our payment processor does (see section 7 and section 8).
- When you contact us or ask for a refund: what you type into the contact form or refund form (name, email, phone, order number, product, your message or reason), the one-time 6-digit verification code we email you (stored only as a one-way hash for up to 10 minutes), and the IP address the message came from.
- When you visit: standard server and security data — IP address, browser and device type, pages requested — the page-view statistics our content-delivery provider collects for us, and the data our anti-spam service processes on the pages that load it (see section 7).
- For Digital Footprint Cleanup and plans that include it: with your consent, your name, past cities and year of birth, used only to file people-search opt-out requests.
- During a session: the technician's notes and the written summary we email you afterwards. What happens on the call is described in section 4.
3. How we use it
To take and deliver your order (confirmation email, delivery email with licence keys, download links and booking link); to schedule and run your session and any follow-up calls; to give phone and email support for your term; to answer messages and process refund requests; to prevent spam and abuse of our forms; to keep our records and meet legal obligations.
Marketing email: there is no newsletter signup on this site and buying from us does not add you to a marketing list. We email you about your order, your delivery, your session, your support requests and your refund requests. If we ever send anything else, it will carry an unsubscribe link you can use at any time.
4. VIP Remote Setup Sessions and session records
- Remote access only during scheduled sessions and only with your consent; you can watch every step and end the session at any time.
- What the technician does is limited to the work described on your product page — installing and configuring software, changing settings with you, running the tools included in your plan — and to what you agree to during the call.
- We recommend closing personal files and windows you do not want on screen before the session.
- Session records: the record we keep of a session is the technician's notes and the written summary emailed to you. Your session runs over remote-support software provided by a third party, which may keep its own connection records under its own terms; ask us before your session and we will tell you which tool your technician will use. You can ask us for a copy of your summary, or ask us to delete it — see section 11.
- For account work — passwords, two-step verification, recovery settings — you type every password; screen-share is paused; we never see or store credentials.
5. The AI Companion
Every plan includes the VShieldSoft AI Companion for the plan’s term. It provides guidance only, is clearly labelled as AI, hands off to a technician whenever a question needs a person and never acts on its own; it does not monitor, block or act on your device. What you type or paste into it (for example a suspicious message you want checked) is processed to answer you and for nothing else — we do not use it to advertise to you and we do not sell it. The Companion does not run on this website, so please keep account numbers, passwords and other secrets out of it; it never needs them. Where we hold anything from a Companion conversation, we keep it under section 9.
6. Sharing and selling
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only with the service providers in section 7, to complete a payment or refund, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of the people we serve.
7. Service providers we use
| Provider | What it does for us | When it runs |
|---|---|---|
| NMI (Network Merchants) | Card payment processing. Card details go from your browser straight to NMI's own hosted fields; our site receives only a payment token | Checkout |
| Apple (Apple Pay) | Apple Pay button, loaded by our payment processor's checkout script | Checkout |
| Google — reCAPTCHA | Spam and abuse prevention on our forms (checkbox challenge) | Loads on the Home and Contact pages (contact form) and when the Request a Refund form is opened on any page |
| Google — Gmail SMTP (via WP Mail SMTP) | Sending our emails (order, delivery, verification codes, replies) | Every email we send |
| Google — Fonts | Web fonts | Every page |
| Google — Places | Address suggestions as you type your billing address | Checkout, while you type in the address field |
| Hostinger | Web hosting — the server this site and its records live on | Every visit |
| Cloudflare | Content delivery, security and DNS in front of the site, plus the visitor statistics we use in place of advertising analytics | Every visit |
This table covers the services that run on vshieldsoft.com. The software you licence, the remote-session software used for your VIP Remote Setup Session and the AI Companion are used to deliver your plan rather than to run this website; how they work is described in section 4 and section 5. List last reviewed: August 16, 2026. We update it when a provider changes.
8. Payments
Every product is a single one-time payment in US dollars; there are no recurring charges and nothing renews. Card details are entered on our checkout and processed by our payment gateway; we do not store full card numbers. Refunds are returned to the original payment method (see our Refund and Returns Policy).
9. Keeping and deleting information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations — and then we delete it or make it anonymous. How long that is depends on the information: your order records stay with us while we owe you support, a guarantee and a receipt; a message you send us goes once it is answered and closed.
Two periods are fixed by the way our systems work:
- Email verification codes — up to 10 minutes, and stored only as a one-way hash
- Form rate-limit counters — up to 24 hours
You can ask us to delete information about you at any time — see section 11.
10. Cross-border transfers
We are in Canada; most of the people we serve are in the United States; our providers in section 7 may process information in the United States or elsewhere. Your information may therefore be stored and processed outside your state, province or country. We follow the principles of Canada’s PIPEDA and respect applicable US state consumer privacy laws.
11. Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (subject to legal exceptions), and withdraw consent for things that rely on it (for example people-search opt-out filing). Contact us using section 14; we reply during support hours. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under state law; tell us and we will explain how they apply.
12. Security
Our site is served over HTTPS; verification codes are stored only as one-way hashes and expire; our forms are rate-limited; card data is handled by the payment gateway, not by us. No method is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that.
13. Changes
We post changes here with a new “Effective” and “Last updated” date and a “What changed” note. The version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
14. Contact
Privacy questions and requests go to our privacy contact — email us with “Privacy” in the subject line, or call and ask for the privacy contact. We reply during support hours.
